No it’s not your fault. She’s your mum and you love her but this really isn’t your problem, she’s supposed to be a mature and sensible person and if she can’t handle her own finances because she’d rather get her nails done and have a Domino’s then that’s her fault.
Get out and get to Uni, let her f*ck up her finances however she wants. Won’t have anyone but herself to blame when you move out will she? Xx

The bankruptcy discharge does not remove the second lienholder’s rights to the property in foreclosure. They will have to purchase the property at the trustee’s sale for the remaining balance on the first lien and their second (unless another buyer bids more), so the first lienholder will be paid in full and they will own the home which they can see to sell to recover their costs. If the home is valued well this could be a good plan of action for them.
Green Tree is very good at servicing and they know the laws, so it is very, very doubtful that they are doing anything to violate the FDCPA. But you should still check with your bankruptcy attorney on this, to see if there is anything you can to do stay in your home short of resuming payment on the second lien.

You need to contact your bankruptcy attorney.
Discharging the debt simply means you are relieved from the obligation to repay the loan. It does NOT mean that you get to keep the collateral that secured the loan. What that means is that the 2nd mortgage lienholder can still foreclose on the property.
You need to contact your bankruptcy attorney because (1) Green Tree may be violating the FDCPA, (2) Green Tree can probably still foreclose, and (3) if you want to stay in your home and avoid foreclosure, you might need to make a reaffirmation agreement. I say “might” because I obviously don’t have all of the facts pertaining to your situation.
Don’t walk away from the home. If you can’t make the payments, then at least stay in there until you are physically forced to leave. Lots of people have lived in their homes for 18+ months payment-free before they were finally foreclosed and forced to move.

If your brother was not paying the loan based on the terms you provided, you are required to get a judgement against him (i.e. take him to court). You didn’t do that. The statute of limitations has expired.
Maybe he will take you to McD for a sundae to make up for not paying the loan.

Do whatever you can to stay away from those places. What they do is just legalized theft from poor working people. As the other posters suggest, try a pawnshop, family, anything rather than starting a cycle of debt payments.

Uh no, in no way is it your fault. Your mother is a grown adult, she makes her own bad decisions. It sounds like she simply is irresponsible and wants someone to blame. You are not taking money from her, you are paying for everything for yourself. She’s being selfish and immature. I hate parents that blame their children for their own mistakes because the kids happened grow up more responsible than themselves.
